Workout: Thursday 05/07/15 – Walking 2.50 miles

Feeling pretty good right now.

I was hustling today.  Set myself a new personal record for average pace – 15:05.  On Monday I was at 16:12/mile.  About the same distance, but definitely picked up the pace.  37:43 total time compared to 40:12.  I’m proud.

Today’s soundtrack was a lovely mix of things, courtesy of my ever-expanding “Running Mix” on Google Play.  I’m enjoying this chance to listen to some stuff I haven’t in a long while.

  1. Faith No More – Superhero
  2. WWE & Jim Johnston – Special Op (The Shield)
  3. Muse – Hysteria
  4. Bush – Machinehead
  5. WWE & CFO$ – Stars in the Night (Paige)
  6. SOiL – Loaded Gun
  7. Earshot – Wait
  8. Spock’s Beard – I Know Your Secret
  9. Mudvayne – Dig
  10. Sevendust – Black

Lots of WWE tunes in this one.  They get me pumped.  Shut up.

My girlfriend Nikki and I are looking at an apartment or two later today.  Our current landlord has decided to non-renew our lease come July 31st, so he can pass the condo down to his son, who just got engaged.  This isn’t totally blindsiding, as when we signed the lease a few years ago for the first time, he advised us ultimately he was handing the condo down to him.  We were just never informed if his son was 12 or 22 or 32.  We never planned.

We’ve had a good relationship with our landlord and this is disappointing.  So often you get a landlord that wants to micromanage every single thing.  This guy trusted us not to mess up his place.  We sent him rent on time every month, never bothered him unless it was something serious, and if it was, it got taken care of in a timely manner.  And, he never once raised our rent.

I’m going to miss this condo.

I was hoping we would’ve had the funds saved up to leave on our own terms and purchase a house.  That was my goal.  And, I felt like we could’ve put a good dent in that inside of a year to a year and a half.  Now?  Prices of rent have gone up, and for a place the same size that we have now we will pay more.

It will be an interesting evening, for sure.

Early Impressions of the WWE Network

WWE Network

I just posted an article over at Ring-Rap.com discussing the debut of the WWE Network.  Simply put: If you’re a wrestling fan, it’s pretty awesome, but you should know what to expect from the experience.

Check it out if you have a chance.

WWE Elimination Chamber coverage at Ring-Rap.com

Elimination Chamber 2014

If you’re into pro-wrestling (like I am) you may be interested to follow along in our live coverage of WWE Elimination Chamber, over at Ring-Rap.com.  Bill has things under control for the moment.  I’ll be taking the helm for WWE Raw tomorrow evening.

I won’t go into a huge rant about any of the matches, because that’s what the other site is for, but I will be more than happy to cross-promote my own stuff.

Buy All the Books!

books

I’ve been on a bit of a book splurge, lately.

Really, I’ve been on a bit of a John Scalzi kick, having read through Redshirts, followed by Old Man’s War, then Fuzzy Nation.

I loved all three of them.

When it comes to books, I’m usually pretty patient.  I love bargain books, and I had scored quite a haul over at BookOutlet.com.  I check Book Outlet about two or three times a week, because, well you never know when something you want will come in (or get bought immediately).  When I saw a copy of The Human Division, I bought it without hesitation.  At the time, I was wading through a pile of Cory Doctorow books, and was about to start a Neil Gaiman book.  But after purchasing The Human Division, which is book #5 in the Old Man’s War saga, I decided patience was a virtue I would have to ignore for now.  I jumped on Amazon and got the three I was missing – The Ghost Brigades, The Last Colony, and Zoe’s Tale.

Yesterday, that order arrived.

Doctor Who T-Shirts, Star Trek, Pro-Wrestling, and Blogging

Good Saturday Morning, everyone.

It’s been a long while since I’ve touched base on here.  My work schedule has been fairly rough, and I’ve been focusing what time for writing I have over at Ring-Rap.com, which is a professional wrestling website I run.  The wrestling world is always changing, so it keeps me pretty busy, especially with Wrestlemania XXX right around the corner.

I’m going to try to make a more solid effort to get my butt in gear and write here more.  I know I’ve said that before, but I think it’s good to have multiple outlets for all of my geekery.
